FAQ #16: What if my needs exceed the budget we agreed to?

The Lanterman Act outlines how services are to be considered. Before anyone helping you goes to the "emergency" plan, they would help you look at your budget. If something unexpected happens, your team might need to sit down and re-negotiate your plan/budget to include your new circumstances. Some examples of this might be unexpected illness, a new medical condition, or the loss of a family member/friend who helped you a lot with your needs/supports. The Regional Center will work with you to help you access the supports you need.
