Stephanies Art
Stephanie
was selected for the self-determination project and had the opportunity to
access services and supports through this process. Stephanie and her broker
worked closely together to develop her self-determination plan. They considered
many possibilities for Stephanie, looking at her interests, talents and hopes
for the future.
Stephanie has had many barriers to her participation
in
activities because she uses a wheelchair and has limited use of her arms.
During the planning process, Stephanie mentioned her love of art. As part
of the individualized funding under self-determination, Stephanie was able
to purchase her own art supplies: brushes, paints and various types of art
paper. She uses watercolors and acrylics and in addition to painting pictures,
she has made cards for her family members. With the support at her home and
at her community program, Stephanie has had the opportunity to express herself
through her art.
Stephanie
is bright and bubbly and enjoys actively participating in her home and community
program. She is seen here with the birthday card she made for her father.
Note the bright, vibrant colors she chose for her painting. Stephanie is an
original!
Thanks to Stephanie for sharing her talent with us!
